I brought this glider, after reading all the book i jumped off a
site called Coxly in Wells. Big mistake really I just found myself
fourty foot of ground and I had only just learnt how to rig the
thing, still five flights and lots of turns later I was off from
Mear in Witshire... There i got my knick name ?????
Hi there. Ye there were books even back then, not many mind you but
one book I learnt off by heart and word perfect before i even
rigged my first glider Was: 'Hang glider pilot' by Ann welsh and
Jerry Brean, I think even all these years later it would still be a
good book to get your head into. But mind you when i first had a
stab at making a hang glider was in 1969, I saw it on the tv and in
a three second glimps i made one from what i had seen out of
bamboos. I had found it hard to get them as just before that the
carpet shops had started to get their carpets on carboard tubes. No
books I knew of then, every one thought it was just another of my
silly ideals. A kite without strings. I never flow that though and
never got into hang gliding till 76 just after the hot
summer.
Just an after thought, back in thse days I used to do lots of silly
things one being; I fitted a water pump in a boat, every one
laughth at that one but it happened two years latter. I never got
to use mine as just after I had a wind fall and brought an outbord
motor. and as for books you can never read enought...Cheers all,
